Jake And Trevor

04

At the troop meeting after the outing, everyone was still talking about what had happened. The ones that had not gone on the trip were kind of envious of the boys that had been on the trip. Not too many people got a chance to see a mountain lion these days, since they usually kept themselves as far from people as possible. Trevor and the twins were congratulated for their bravery in helping to chase the cat off.

Over the next few weeks, Trevor and Zach became closer friends and you rarely saw one without the other, either at school or at scouts. Trevor spent a lot of time at Jake's house. Jake gave him help with his homework when he needed it. Sometimes Jeremy was with him, and sometimes Zach or both of the twins went with him; most of the time he came over to Jake's just by himself. Every two or three days Jake had dinner with Trevor and his mom, or they would go over to his house for dinner. Occasionally they went out to dinner and sometimes a movie afterwards. They were becoming more and more like a family. One day Trevor got a call from Jeremy.

"Hi, Trev."

"Hey, Jeremy, what's up?"

"I just found out from Roger that he has the Lakers tickets. We're going on Saturday. Why don't you stay over after the game; it will be kind of late anyway when we get home."

"That sounds cool. I'll check with my mom to make sure it's okay. I'll let you know later tonight."

"Okay. See ya tomorrow."

"Bye, Jeremy."

That evening during dinner he told his mom about the tickets. She gave him permission to stay overnight at Jeremy's. He called Jeremy later after dinner, to let him know. They made plans for the weekend. When he got off the phone, Sandy called Jake.

"Hi, Jake, it's Sandy."

"Hi, Sandy. To what do I owe this pleasure?"

"Trevor just heard from Jeremy today. They are going to the game on Saturday night, and Trevor is staying over at Jeremy's, so are we still on?"

"You bet. Any place special you would like to go?"

"Surprise me."

"Great, now I have to worry about what you like. You ain't makin' this real easy."

"You were in the Navy. You like adventure, don't you? You know it's not just a job, it's an adventure. It should be fun."

"Okay. I'll think about it. It should be fun. G'nite."

"Nite, Jake."

To both Trevor and Jake the rest of the week kind of dragged, but they survived. On Saturday, Sandy dropped Trevor off at Jeremy's. Denise greeted them at the door and called for Jeremy. He took Trevor to his room. Trevor put his backpack and sleeping bag down. Out in the living room, Sandy and Denise were talking.

"Please tell Roger thanks for taking Trevor with you guys to the game. He's been looking forward to it."

"I think they'll have a great time. Roger said that the seats he got are real good, so it should be fun for them."

"Good, well, I have to go get ready for my date."

"Date, who with?"

"Jake."

"Well, good for you. He seems to be a nice guy, and what a hunk!"

"Yeah, I really like him, and Trevor loves him."

"Well, you'll have to tell me all about it."

"Well, thanks again, Denise. Are you going to drop Trevor off, or I could pick him up if you have things to do."

"No I'll bring him home sometime in the morning, if that's okay."

"That'll be fine. See you tomorrow. Trevor!"

Trevor came from Jeremy's room, with Jeremy behind him.

"See you tomorrow, honey; have a good time."

"'Kay, Mom. See you tomorrow."

She left after getting a hug from Trevor. She hurried home and got ready. Promptly at six pm Jake picked her up. At five pm, Roger arrived to pick everyone up.

"Hi, boys, Denise. You all ready to go? It should be a good game; they are playing Sacramento tonight."

"Yeah, Roger, we are. Thanks for letting me bring Trevor along."

"No problem, any friend of yours is a friend of mine. My plan is for us to go get something to eat, and then we'll go to the game. I've gotten us some real great seats; they are from a season ticket holder whose tickets are close to the floor. So we should really have a great time."

Everyone got their coats and went out to Roger's Mustang. They stopped for dinner at Chili's, and then went on to Staples Center. When they saw where the seats were located that Roger had gotten for them, they were amazed. Looking around, they saw several celebrities sitting near the floor that they recognized from movies and television. It looked like it was going to be a great night.

"So what do you boys think?"

"They're great, thanks, Roger!"

"Yeah, thanks for letting me go along, Mr. Smith."

"I'm happy to do it. Jeremy will probably have more fun with his friend along, instead of with just me and his mom. Later on, if you guys want a snack or something, let me know."

"My mom gave me some money for snacks or souvenirs...."

"Don't even worry about it, Trevor. Jeremy mentioned that it was your birthday soon, so consider this an early birthday gift, from us. If you would like something, a jersey, hat or something like that, don't hesitate. I'll get it for you as a present from all of us. You can save your money for another time."

"Gee, thanks, Mr. Smith, I don't want you to spend a bunch of money on me. I can get my own souvenirs, but I would accept maybe a snack later; that would let me use snack money for a souvenir."

"Well, if you're sure."

"Yes, sir, I'm sure."

"Okay, we'll do it your way. I respect that, a man who wants to pay his own way. But don't hesitate to ask when you want a snack."

"Sure, I will, I mean, I'll let you know, thanks a lot."

They settled in and watched the game. It turned out to be an exciting game, pretty close score for most of the game. The Lakers won the game. Meanwhile Jake and Sandy were having a very nice time together as well. The meal was very good and Jake surprised her by taking her to the Laugh Factory. There were some pretty good comics onstage that night, and they had a great time. Jake brought her back around eleven pm; they pulled into Jake's driveway, and he walked her across the street to her house. She invited him inside. They went into the kitchen and she put some water for tea on the stove. They talked while it was brewing.

"Thanks, Jake, that was a nice evening. I haven't had that much fun in a long time. Those comics were hilarious."

"I enjoyed it thoroughly. We'll have to do this again sometime. Maybe dancing next time, or maybe a play. Perhaps there will be something good at the Pantages or Kodak Theatre."

"I could go for that."

"It's a date then."

She got up to get the tea for them. When she brought the cups back to the table, she has kind of a serious look. A look he had seen before, it usually meant something about Trevor.

"Can I ask you a personal question, Jake?

"Sure."

"You've never been married, right?"

"No, not even close. It's not like I never had any girlfriends or anything like that. But with my time in the military, then the Sheriffs, then starting the company and getting it going, a wife didn't fit in the picture."

"I just wondered, because I really like you and Trevor is completely head over heels in love with you. You can do no wrong in his eyes. How do you feel about that?"

"Like I said before. There is nothing I wouldn't do for him, up to and including putting my life on the line for him. That includes you too. I really like you a lot as well."

He reached over and took her hand. She squeezed his hand in return as they looked at each other.

"So where do we go from here, Jake?"

"Well, I'd like us to get to know each other better. Find out who you are and let you learn about me. Then we can go from there."

"What about Trevor?"

"He can get his own girlfriend."

She started laughing.

"You know what I mean."

"I know. I know, it just was so easy. I mean if you're going to serve softballs, I'm going to take a swing. I love Trevor very much; maybe it's my paternal instinct rearing its head. I was just drawn to him from the time I met him. He is such a great kid. Something about him makes me feel great when I'm with him. Right now, I cannot imagine life without him. I want to see him grow up to be as good a man as I think he will be. I'd like to be part of that process."

"Well, I think that can be arranged. You of course are invited for his 12th birthday that is coming up on Thanksgiving weekend."

"Why don't we have it at my house? I'll make sure the pool is heated, and he can invite some of his friends and their families. We'll barbeque. It'll be great."

"That sounds nice. I accept, but only if you have Thanksgiving dinner with us."

"Fair enough, we'll make it a family affair."

They finished their tea and she walked him to the door. At the door he took her in his arms and kissed her. She returned the kiss with passion. They stayed like that for some time. He pulled back and smiled down at her and she smiled up at him.

"I'll see you later. Pleasant dreams."

"I don't think that I could have any other kind."

She watched him walk back home; he turned at his door and waved. She waved back, then shut the door and went to her bedroom. She fell asleep with a smile on her face that matched the one on his.

The boys got back to Jeremy's house at about eleven pm also. Roger came up behind the boys as they walked to the house, and put his arms around the boys and gave them a little hug. He then rubbed down their backs.

"I hope you guys had a nice time."

"Yeah, it was great, thanks, Roger."

"Yeah, thanks, Mr. Smith. I really liked the game."

"Trevor, you can call me Roger like Jeremy does. Mr. Smith makes me feel a little old or like a teacher."

"Okay, Mr... Roger, I'll try."

The boys went inside, while Jeremy's mom walked Roger out to his car. They were holding hands. The boys watched them through the front window as he hugged her and gave her a long kiss. Then they smiled at each other as they broke apart and he got into his car, and she watched as he drove off, waving to him. The boys went to Jeremy's bedroom, and lay on the bed watching some TV, as they were still a little wound up with excitement from the game. Denise came into the room a few minutes later, smiling.

"You boys don't stay up too late, and try to keep it to a dull roar."

"We won't, mom. We're just going to watch a little TV, then go to bed. We won't be long."

"Okay. G'night guys, sleep tight."

"Night, Mom."

"Night, Mrs. Davis."

She shut the door and they continued to watch TV for a little bit.

"Jer, do you think that your Mom and Roger are going to get together, you know, like get married?"

"I don't know. They have gone out a few times and she smiles when she talks to him on the phone. Maybe, I don't know."

"Jer. I think my mom and Jake might get together."

"Really. Would you like that?"

"Yeah, that would be really cool. They went out tonight on a date."

"They did? Do you want them to get together?"

"I think it would be cool. I love Jake like I did my Dad, but it's different. I still love my Dad the same, but I love Jake just as much. He is so great and I feel great when I'm with him. I would love it, if they got together and he became my dad."

"Then I hope it works for you."

"Would you want Roger to be your new Dad?"

"I don't know. He seems all right and my Mom likes him. It might be good. I don't remember my Dad; he left us when I was a baby, so I never knew him. I haven't given it much thought."

They continued to watch TV for a little while longer until they both started to yawn. They decided it was time to get ready for bed.

"Trevor, maybe I should have asked you, but I sleep in my underwear. I can wear some pajamas if it bothers you.'

"Whew. I brought some for the same reason, but I don't normally wear them either. A t-shirt and underwear is usually the most that I wear to bed. I don't sleep as well when I wear pajamas, because it seems too hot."

"Cool."

Trevor started to get his sleeping bag rolled out, but Jeremy stopped him.

"Trevor, you can sleep in the bed with me if you want to. I don't mind. It'll probably be a lot more comfortable than down on the floor."

"Sure. I guess that'd be okay. The floor might have been a little hard to sleep on."

They stripped down to their briefs and glanced at each other before they got into bed. When they got in, they turned toward each other and smiled.

"Trev, can I ask you something?"

"Sure, anything. We're best buds."

"Well I hope this doesn't weird you out either, it's kind of personal, but do you ever ...play with yourself."

"What do you mean, oh ... ooohhh, you mean ...?"

"Yeah, you know, rub it until it gets hard, and then if you keep rubbing it, you get this tingly feeling down there."

"No, I've never done that, have you?"

"Yeah, a few times."

"What happens?"

"Well, when you do it for awhile, the tingly feeling gets stronger and your heart beats a little faster, like you were running, and you breathe kind of hard, then suddenly all your muscles get stiff, and then it feels kinda like you're going to pee, but nothing comes out, and then all of a sudden you feel all relaxed and kind of sleepy. It feels real good."

"No, I've never done that. It feels really good, huh?"

"Yeah, you should try it, it's great. You uh ...want to do it together?'

"I guess."

The boys lay on their backs and started to rub themselves through their briefs. Pretty soon, they both started to get hard. Their breathing increased and they started to sweat a bit.

"Jeremy, I feel the tingle, but I'm getting real hot. Can we put the covers down?"

"Yeah, me too."

They quickly pushed the covers off and got back to rubbing themselves. Pretty soon they were both writhing around a little bit. Then Jeremy put his hand inside of his underwear and continued.

"Trev, do it like this. Hold it in your fist and go up and down. It feels even better."

Trevor copied him and soon started to feel the tingle. Pretty soon both of them were breathing hard and squirming around on the bed. They both started to moan a little and their muscles tightened up, and then they sighed and relaxed. They both lay there with their eyes closed for a few minutes as they caught their breath. Then they opened them and looked at each other and smile.

"Wow, that was awesome, Jeremy. How did you learn about that?"

"I was just watching TV here a few weeks ago. I was like this in my underwear and was lying on my stomach. I started to move around a little on the bed, and I got stiff, then it started feeling tingly. I turned on my back and started rubbing it with my hand, and pretty soon I started feeling it and it was great. So I've been doing this almost every night."

"That really felt great. I think I'm going to like this."

"Thanks for staying the night, Trev. Goodnight."

"Night, Jer. See you in the morning."

They pulled the covers back over themselves and turned on their sides and went to sleep. During the night Jeremy scooted back against Trevor's chest, and without waking up, Trevor put his arm around Jeremy. Jeremy almost purred in his sleep as they cuddled together.

In the morning, Trevor woke up slowly, feeling warm and cozy. He realized that Jeremy was cuddled up to him, and he had his arm wrapped around Jeremy as they slept. He smiled, closed his eyes again and dozed back off. A little while later Jeremy woke up and he smiled, feeling all warm and protected. Suddenly he realized that he was spooned back up to Trevor and Trevor's arm was around him holding him. He started to move suddenly and the movement woke Trevor. Jeremy moved away and looked over at Trevor with fear in his eyes.

"Dude, sorry, I didn't mean...uh, I mean ...it was an accident ..."

"Jer, chill. S'okay. I thought it was cool. I felt all warm and cozy. I didn't mind."

"Y ...you're not weirded out?"

"No, not at all. I liked it. If you don't want to get up yet, we could snuggle in some more."

"You mean it, really?"

"Yeah, on our first campout, this is how Zach and I ended up sleeping. We were both part way out of our sleeping bags and we were close together. He said it's the best sleep he ever had during a camping trip."

"I think I need ta pee first, but I would like to do it some more, so I'll be right back."

"Now that you mentioned it, me too. D'ya mind if I come with you?"

"No, I don't mind."

The boys got out of bed and Jeremy carefully opened the door to see if the coast was clear. They hurried across the hall to the bathroom and closed the door. They hesitated for a moment then pulled the front of their briefs down and waited for their pee hardons to go down. Once they had relaxed enough, they started to pee. When they finished, they repeated the process of checking to make sure the coast was clear, and then hurried back across to Jeremy's room. They jumped back in bed and moved close to each other. Their arms went around each other and they hugged. They turned their heads so that their cheeks were touching and they just lay there, feeling the warmth and affection they had for each other. After a few minutes they were interrupted by a knock at the door. The boys sprang apart.

"Boys. Time to get up. Breakfast will be ready in a few minutes. So get dressed and cleaned up."

"Okay, Mom."

"That was close. I thought your mom was going to open the door."

"Nah, she wouldn't do that. She always knocks, and then asks if she can come in."

"Good. My mom's like that too. She says that she respects my privacy."

"Trev, as much as I would love to continue lying here, I guess we better get up."

"Yep. I guess so. Could we hug one more time?"

Jeremy gave his answer by moving to Trevor again and they hugged, their bodies molding against each other. They started to feel themselves getting hard.

"Jer, we better get up. I'm getting stiff."

"Yeah, me too."

Trevor surprised Jeremy by giving him a kiss on the cheek. Jeremy smiled back at Trevor and returned the favor. They hugged each other once more, then broke apart smiling and got out of bed so that they could get dressed. They kept looking at each other and smiling as they got their clothes on. Trevor packed his stuff into this backpack. They made a stop at the bathroom to brush their teeth and wash their hands. There was some giggling between them as they did this. They came out of the bathroom and went to the kitchen. Denise was putting some platters of eggs, bacon and toast on the table. They boys were smiling as they took their seats.

"Good morning, boys. You look like you slept real well."

They smiled at each other.

"Yes, ma'am. We slept great. Thanks again for letting me spend the night."

"Yeah, mom. It was fun."

"You are welcome anytime, Trevor."

"Thanks."

"Trevor, I'll take you home in about an hour. Is that okay?"

"Sure."

They had a fine breakfast. Over the breakfast they rehashed some of the game last night. After breakfast was over, the boys went into the living room and watched cartoons until Denise was ready to take Trevor home. When the hour was up, she came out ready to go. They went out to her car and got in. She drove them over to Trevor's house. Sandy came out as they drove up. Trevor got out and thanked them. He asked Denise to give his thanks again to Roger when she saw him again. She assured him that she would. Trevor waved as they drove away. He gave his mom a hug.

"Hi, mom."

"Hi, honey. How was the game? Did you have a good time at Jeremy's?"

"Yeah, both were great. We were real close to the floor, about 20 seats up. We could see everything perfectly."

"Good. Well, I have some news for you. We are having your birthday party at Jake's, and he is going to have Thanksgiving with us. He said you can invite some of your friends and their families. He'll heat up the pool and we'll have a family barbeque."

"Yay! I can't wait. Can I go to Jake's and thank him?"

"Sure, but he just left for the park a few minutes ago with Dee."

"I'll catch up with him. By the way, Mom, how was your date last night?"

She smiles at him and ruffles his hair. He smiles at her.

"It was very nice."

"Very nice?"

"Yes. Now hadn't you better get going?"

He started to leave, then realized he still hadn't put his backpack and sleeping bag away yet. He seemed torn for a moment, and then he started hurrying into the house. His mom caught him by the shoulder and put her hand out for the pack and bag. He smiled and gave it to her, and then he gave her another hug and ran off down the street toward the park. It didn't take him long to get to the park. He stopped a minute while he looked around for Jake and Dee. He heard a bark and saw them a little ways away. Jake had just thrown the ball for Dee. Trevor carefully snuck up behind Jake until he was ten feet behind him, just as he threw the ball again. As soon as Dee took off, Trevor started running as quietly as he could at Jake's back. At the last moment Jake sensed someone behind him and turned around, just in time to see a blond haired dive bomber fly through the air toward him in a pounce. He had an instant to brace himself for the pounce and opened his arms so he could catch the dive bomber. The force of the pounce made him step back a bit, but he stayed upright, and ended up with a giggling boy in his arms, who had both arms around his neck and had just given him a kiss on the cheek and was hugging him. Jake shifted his hands under Trevor's butt, so that he was able to support Trevor's weight, which Trevor helped by locking his legs around Jake's waist. Dee got back about that time and was jumping up on both of them. This ended up knocking the two of them down. Jake let out an involuntary "oof", as Trevor landed on his stomach as they fell. Luckily Trevor remembered to unlock his legs from around Jake, or they might have been squished under Jake's back. Dee started licking at both of them, until they were both laughing and giggling. Eventually Trevor buried his face in Jake's chest to get away from Dee's tongue. Jake pushed Dee away.

"Dee, sit!"

Dee immediately stopped and sat next to them. His tongue was hanging out and it looked like he was smiling. An older couple and what appeared to be their grandkids came walking by. The older couple stopped for a moment and watched them before the lady spoke.

"It is so nice to see a father and son, having fun together."

"Thank you ma'am, that's kind of you to say."

"Well, have fun."

"Thanks, you too."

The older couple moved off. The two lay there like that for a few moments with Trevor feeling relaxed, his head turned to the side and lying on Jake's chest as he listened to Jake's heartbeat, now that he didn't have to hide his face from Dee anymore. Jake stroked his back for a while as they relaxed.

"Hey, buddy, you asleep?'

"No, just listening to your heartbeat. This feels nice. I could lie like this all day."

"Yeah, I like it too, but I think we need to get up."

"Okay."

Trevor got up from Jake and went over to pet Dee. Jake got up and brushed himself off. Then he went and brushed Trevor off.

"So, to what do I owe the pleasure of this unprovoked attack?"

"I just wanted to thank you for having my party at your house next weekend."

"Why wouldn't I? I'm supposed to do things like that for my 'son'."

He ruffled Trevor's hair. Trevor looked up at Jake with a smile and tears in his eyes.

"You really mean that?"

"What's wrong? Mean what?"

"You know, calling me son?"

Jake took him in his arms and Trevor's arms went around Jake and held tight.

"Of course I mean that. I love you like my son. I would do anything I can for you."

Jake heard some sniffles and he stroked Trevor's hair as he held him. Dee started whining and pushed his nose against Trevor's side. Trevor reached down and rubbed his head but kept his other arm around Jake. He eventually let go and looked up at Jake, smiling with the hint of tears in his eyes.

"Why don't we go back to my house and have some ice tea, and we can talk some."

Trevor nodded. Jake snapped the leash on Dee and handed it to Trevor, while he retrieved Dee's ball. They walked home. During the walk, Trevor reached over and took Jake's hand and Jake smiled down to him and gave his hand a squeeze. They walked home silently, just enjoying the walk and each other's company. When they got to Jake's, they went inside and Jake got them some tea, and they sat in the living room. Trevor sat next to Jake and leaned into him, putting his arm across Jake's stomach. They sat silently for a little while. Jake let Trevor just lean against him, while he just rubbed Trevor's back.

"Thanks for loving me, Jake."

"Like I said, anything I can do for you, I will. I love you. If I had ever had a son, I would want him to be just like you."

He felt his shirt get a little damp and heard some sniffles. He leaned down and kissed Trevor on top of his head.

"I miss him so much sometimes."

"Who ...oh ...your dad. Yeah, I can understand that. My dad is still alive; he lives in Montana on his ranch. So I can't say that I completely understand. But I have lost good friends, so I know kind of what you feel. You will always miss him, it will probably hurt a little always, but as you get older, it won't bother you as much. I don't want you to think I'm trying to take your Dad's place or anything, but I am here for you whenever you need me."

"I know that. Speaking of that, how was your date last night?"

Jake looked down and Trevor was smiling at him.

"It was very nice, thank you."

"That's what my mom said. You like my mom, don't you?"

"Yes, I do. Does that bother you?"

"Nope. Do you like her a lot?"

"I like her.'

"And ...?"

"And what?"

"And more detail ..."

Trevor was moving his hand in circle, making a 'give more information' gesture. Jake smiled at Trevor and gave him a quick squeeze.

"And we are going to get to know each other, and have some fun together."

Trevor jumped up.

"Yaayyy!"

Trevor then jumped back onto the couch and landed in Jake's lap straddling his legs. He hugged him, then sat back and placed his hands on Jake's shoulders. He looked him in the eye.

"Are you going to marry my mom?"

"Whoah, buddy, not so fast. I said we're going to get to know each other. Don't start booking churches yet. I told you we're going to get to know each other. I want to know her and she wants to know me, so we're going to do that, understand?"

"Okay, but don't take too long. You two will be good together."

"Oh, and you're some expert about relationships?"

"Maybe, you never know."

Trevor smiled, then got kind of a nervous look on his face and bit his lower lip.

"Uh, can I ask you something, Jake?"

"Sure, anything."

"Okay, could I call you ... Dad ... like when we're together like this?"

Jake suddenly found he had a lump in his throat, and had to swallow a couple of times as his eyes misted up a little. He put his hand on either side of Trevor's face and stroked his thumbs gently on Trevor's temples. He leaned forward and touched his forehead to Trevor's, looking him in the eyes. His voice cracked just a little as he spoke.

"I would be honored for you to do that. It would make me feel really special. But I don't want you to do that because you think you should, because I am friends with you and your mom."

"No. I want to do it, because you are special to me. You've done things with me, like my Dad would have if he were here. You make me feel like your son. So I want to do it, because it feels good to me."

Trevor leaned forward and kissed Jake on the lips, then put his arms around Jake's neck and laid his head down on Jake's shoulder. Jake stroked his hair and hugged him.

"You're pretty special too, ya know."

They sat like that for a few minutes, just enjoying this newfound closeness.

"By the way, how was the game?"

Trevor sat back up and got off Jake's lap. He picked up his drink and sat down next to Jake again.

"It was great. We had great seats only about 20 rows from the floor. There were movie and TV stars all around. The game was real close, and the Lakers won."

"Good. I'm glad you had a great time. Did you like staying overnight at Jeremy's?"

Trevor blushed a little, before he could stop himself.

"Yeah, that was fun too."

Jake noticed the blush, but didn't say anything about it; he just smiled, and guessed at what in meant. They were two normal boys, after all.

"So Dad, how many can I invite for the party."

"How many do you want to invite, son?"

"Can I ask ten?"

"Sure, and don't forget to include their families if they want. We can start at about one next Saturday. That sound okay to you?"

"Yeah, sounds perfect."

"Okay, now that that is settled. How about if we continue your Duke lessons?"

"Okay, what will we watch?"

"I think McLintock. It's a fun movie."

"Okay."

They settled back for the afternoon to watch the movie; they stayed cuddled up the entire time.
