Silver Dragon

Chapter 1

Port Talbot, Wales, United Kingdom

26th December, 2003

Sunlight crept through the window and fell gently upon the faces of the two boys sleeping in each others arms. Their brown and blond hair seemed to shine with a life of their own, and the obvious glow of love seemed to bounce between both relaxed faces. Jason mumbled to himself as he was woken by the light. Blinking, he shifted his face slightly, opened his eyes and let them fall on the face of his new brother; his boyfriend. Nathan's pale face, still marred slightly by the bruises his 'sperm–donor' gave him, was nonetheless peaceful, and the frame of blond hair just caught Jason's heart all over again. As he hugged Nathan in closer, more memories from last night bloomed before his eyes, and he grinned shyly. He was a little sore in certain places, but it was a nice soreness and it made him grin all the more.

Nathan muttered in his sleep, a sweet sound to Jason's ears, causing Jason to move slightly and capture Nathan's lips with his own. As he kissed his blond–haired angel, Nathan's eyes popped open and the kiss became far more energetic. Certain parts of both boys were suddenly wide awake, and obviously demanded attention. They moved gently against each other, lips still locked in that fight of passion, and small moans and whimpers were let loose. Moments later, along with the accompanying suitable noises of satisfaction, they released their lips enough to whisper, "I love you," in unison, before just staring into the eyes of the other.

It was this scene that their little sister saw, as she burst through the door: her new adopted brother, Nathan, lying on top of Jason and both of them were under the thick quilt (thankfully for them) while lost in each others love. "You guys are sooo noisy!" she giggled playfully, before pouncing on top of them both and smothering their cheeks with morning kisses.

"Vic! Please, knock on the door first!" Nathan half begged, half giggled. "You could have arrived in the middle of something!"

"I knew you'd finished; your noises had stopped," she explained logically, yet her grin had grown wider.

"Viiiiccy!" Jason whined, blushing to the roots of his hair.

"Whaaat??"

"Just... just get your naked butt out, Vic. We'll be down for breakfast soon!" Nathan giggled. She kissed them both once more, then scooted out of the room fast. Nathan turned to face his lover and said quietly, "You know, you guys get it so great. I was never allowed to wander around like that with my... with him."

Jason grinned, "Yeah, but you certainly like going around like that with us, don't ya!"

"Yup! I was scared the first time, though... thought Viccy would laugh and I felt really weird about it," Nathan said in a considering tone, as he gently lifted himself off Jason and got out of bed. "In that caravan, though, we all would have been seen by each other, so I thought, 'When in Rome...'." He shrugged, turned and offered his hand to Jason and practically yanked him out of the bed. "I'm just glad Mam and Dad don't do it... Yuck! Old people!"

"Idiot," Jason muttered with a loving smile. "Well, it's warmer in here today. Kinda cold last few days; you wanna go down like this, or throw on something?"

"Could we stay here?" Nathan pleaded.

"Why?"

Nathan blushed and his feet shuffled about a bit. He whispered in a small voice, "I, erm... I feel like we'll get... teased."

Jason's face also became concerned, "Yeah."

The door opened again, this time to let in Dafydd, their father. He smiled down at the two blushing eleven year old boys and chuckled. "Well, what's wrong with you two?"

Jason kept his eyes averted as he mumbled, "Nuffin'..." Nathan hugged himself close to Jason while blushing more and he, too, kept his own eyes cast down.

"Oookay..." Dafydd entered the room fully and closed the door behind him. He knelt down in front of both boys and gently raised their faces so they were looking directly at him. "All right, what's wrong, guys? This is 'Dad' here, and he's worried. But the thing is, I can't help you if you don't tell me what's wrong."

Jason, his eyes still averted, started to mumble out, "We're... kinda thinkin'... umm... we 'd be... err..."

Dafydd stopped him there, and completed his sentence for him, "That you'll both be teased?"

"Yeah," Nathan admitted shyly.

Dafydd got up and moved over to sit on the bed. He pulled both boys in and sat one of them on each leg. "Okay, first of all, no, you won't be. At least not this morning, no bets on the rest of your lives though," he started with a hint of amusement. "Both your Mam and I know what this is like, although we were a little older than you two are when we had to deal with it."

Jason glanced at his father and asked softly, "Your wedding night?"

Dafydd laughed until he was lying on the bed, both boys held tightly to his chest. His laughter was contagious and they were soon giggling as madly as he was. They had no clue as to why, but it was still funny. "No," he managed eventually. "We were fifteen or so, and were in love. Her parents didn't like her, though, so we spent a lot of time at my place. As you know, Jace, your Gran and Gramps are an amazing pair."

"They sure are cool!" Jason was nodding firmly in agreement, fully enjoying the cuddle from his dad. Nathan was lying next to him and also nodded his agreement as he had met them before.

Dafydd, not bothered about moving, held them closer and continued, "They knew how much we loved each other, and were very much aware that young people will just go off and do something with or without their blessing. They did the same for us as we did last night for you. They told us it was all right, gave us some stuff to help, then left us alone. Next morning, they talked to us about the stuff we'll be talking to you about after breakfast; safety and wisdom in who to tell. It wasn't as bad for us, though, since a gay relationship can pull in issues that can be dangerous. But the fact remains that two fifteen year olds in a sexual relationship openly is still something that shouldn't be shouted about if you don't want too much bad attention."

The boys nodded and waited for the rest. "So, we were done for the night, then next morning we were both shy like you two are now. We didn't know what would happen, nor who would say anything or tease us. We weren't teased, though. They sat us down, talked to us, and made sure we were okay with everything. It was afterwards that they teased, and only when they knew we were not going to be badly effected by it. Does that make things better for you two?"

"Yeah, thanks, Dad," Nathan whispered before he kissed his new dad's cheek.

"Yup," echoed Jason. He continued cheekily, "Just one thing; what did Gramps leave you? Lube? Wouldn't think that was needed with a girl!"

Dafydd started to laugh again, "I keep forgetting how bright you two are. No, that's not quite as needed with a girl. Condoms are, however. Especially if you don't want unwanted or unplanned babies turning up!"

Nathan looked puzzled, "Don't boys need them too? You know, to stop those bad sex diseases and stuff?"

Jason giggled, "Well, if we'd both been doing stuff with other boys a lot before, maybe. But that was our first time, Nath'."

"But... he, he used to touch me alla time!" Nathan started to panic.

"Shhh," Dafydd held his new son firmly, "That's not a problem, Nath'. We did scan you Christmas Eve when Uncle Bill was here, right? The scan came through negative on all counts. However, if you are still worried, I'll take the two of you to the 'Hood' later today for a full check up."

Both their eyes brightened at that, and they started to rapidly fire questions at him. "Whoa there, kiddos," he interrupted with a short laugh, "First things first. We have to have breakfast, and then, a Federation Liaison to the Social Services is here this morning, Mrs Purnell. The visit to the Hood will be this afternoon, okay"

"Okay, Dad!" they chorused. Dafydd sat up and placed both boys on their feet.

"Off you go, Guys, breakfast is ready."

They giggled and ran out of the room in their birthday suits and made their way downstairs.

As they ran into the kitchen, their mother, Angela, was standing ready. All the food had been placed on the table ready for them, and she was simply waiting to gather her old and new sons into her arms for a good morning hug. "Sleep well, boys?" she asked, as she soundly kissed them both.

"Yeah!" Jason giggled, a slow blush mounting his cheeks. Nathan rolled his eyes and giggled with him as he too nodded. 'Ahh, morning hugs are wonderful.' Nathan thought to himself. He'd not had them before spending time with Jason, but he had very soon grown to love them.

Victoria was seated at the kitchen table and quietly eating. She smirked at them both as they sat opposite her, yet said nothing as their faces grew rose coloured. After glancing at their smiling mother, they both began inhaling their fried breakfast.

"Put the dishes in the sink, boys. I'll wash up as you get showered and dressed." Angela got up from the table, carrying her plates to the sink and began cleaning up.

Nathan gathered his, Victoria's and Jason's dishes and did as he had been told, while Victoria ran into the bathroom yelling, "Me first!!" Jason giggled at her antics before pulling the returning Nathan onto his lap. Nathan blushed.

Dafydd raised his eyebrows and chortled, "Not at the table, boys!"

"Daaad! You promised!" Jason whined.

"Sorry, but Nathan's face demanded a response!"

"Leave them alone, Daf. Boys, go use the shower upstairs. You know how long your sister takes. And we have a visitor who will be here in an hour or so." Angela said, looking over her shoulder at the two blushing boys.

Jason and Nathan piled out of the kitchen as fast as they could to escape Dafydd's laughter; plus, it wasn't everyday they were allowed to use their parent's en suite bathroom. Loud protests came from Victoria at hearing this, but they giggled as they ignored her and ran upstairs.

Since they were both young, and full of energy, the shower took a lot longer than necessary and the noises were not what was normal for a shower; at least not normal when alone. As they left the bathroom, they saw their parents sitting on the bed grinning at them. Nathan blushed all over, and Jason followed suit. They stood there, still slightly damp and bare as the day they were born, fidgeting at those amused grins.

"Come here, boys," Angela said laughingly. "Time for that talk, we think."

They came over slowly but were soon grabbed and sat on their parent's laps; Nathan on his mother's, Jason with his father.

Dafydd started, "Like I said earlier, we're not going to overtly tease you, or at least not much, but you two certainly leave yourselves open to it at times." He kissed Jason lovingly and hugged him tighter as he whined a bit in embarrassment.

"There are a few things we need to talk to you about, though, sweethearts," Angela continued. "Mainly about telling others. It's not always wise to say what you feel in these situations, unless you know the person can be trusted. Wales is not that bad a place to be gay, but there are some who will try and hurt you. And the kids in school are like all kids; which means that they are mean to those who are different."

"We don't want you getting hurt," Dafydd took up the conversation, "and we know you will if you are too obvious. We don't care here, in the house. You can be as loving as you want, within reason."

"Eh?" Nathan queried.

"No 'playing' unless in private, for one, boys," Angela stated playfully. "We know your little sister knows what's going on, but let's not be too up front about it. If you do make love, then do so in private as you have been doing."

Both boys blushed deeply but nodded. "Don't worry. We'd not do anythin' like that when we can be caught... well..."

Dafydd broke up laughing. "Don't worry about just now. You were in private, and normally we'd not be out here listening. We just expected it to happen, and thought it best to wait here for this chat. You two did good. Sounded like it, too!"

"Daaaaad!"

"Daf, you promised! Leave off the teasing."

"Thanks, Mam." they chorused.

"He's right though," she added.

"MAM!"

"Sorry," she giggled. "Okay, that's enough for now. Just be careful who you tell, and carry on being the same two wonderful, thoughtful boys we love, okay?"

They nodded, hugged them both tightly, then ran out to their room.

Ten minutes later, they were dressed and now playing one of their new Playstation games. Angela knocked and entered the room, "Mrs Purnell will be here in five minutes, boys. She called and said she was ahead of schedule, so up you get."

Nathan looked at his new mother nervously, "Ya sure I won't get sent away?"

"I'm sure, sweetheart. The Safe Haven Act allows your dad to take you as his own, or find another suitable place for you. Since we all love you very much, especially Jace here," she said with a wink at them both, "we're hardly likely to send you away, are we?"

Nathan ran to her and was pulled up into her arms. Resting his head on her shoulder he whispered, "I love you, Mammy."

"Love you too, sweety. Now go on; go downstairs with Jace. She'll be here soon." Nathan was set on his feet, and immediately grabbed by Jason, and they both took off downstairs. "I swear to God that I'll never understand how they do that. I'd break my neck running that fast down those stairs," she muttered to herself, as she made her more sedate way after them.

Mrs Purnell was a no–nonsense type of person, but she was very good at her job. Victoria loved her immediately. Nathan was hesitant at first to tell his story yet again, but after being sat on her lap and cuddled into submission, he managed to reveal everything about his old life. To say she was highly annoyed at what had happened was quite an understatement.

"First, Captain Evans, I am assuming that you wish to invoke the SHA and have Nathan placed with you, is that correct?" she asked, in her short, clipped voice that barely contained her rage.

"Correct, Mrs Purnell"

She looked about the room briefly, "I don't see there being a major problem for the short term, but from the outside, this is a three bedroomed house?"

Angela answered, "Yes, although they are fairly large rooms."

"Mmm," Mrs Purnell opened her tricorder and started searching for information. "Three children, two adults. Not that bad an arrangement, but it would make things sing sweeter if you were to upgrade to a larger home. These boys are about to enter puberty, if they haven't already done so, and would need their own space."

Dafydd coughed as he tried to suppress a laugh. Mrs Purnell looked sharply at him. "I fail to see anything amusing, Captain. They might be best friends, but..."

Dafydd held up his hand briefly to interrupt her. "They really wouldn't mind sharing, however, we were already thinking about moving. There's a nice farm house about seven miles from here in its own valley. All the valley comes as the package. It would be the perfect place for my family, especially once I am on duty with my new command."

"That is good. However, what did you mean by 'They really wouldn't mind...'. I am curious, Captain. Please enlighten me." She looked at Dafydd seriously before sending a brief glance at the now blushing pair of boys. "Never mind, Captain. I think I understand. You two are more than good friends, I gather?"

"Uhuh," mumbled Nathan with a shy, cheeky grin.

"We're boyfriends!" Jason added seriously, daring her to object, yet still red in the face. This might have been more from growing anger than embarrassment, as he was sure Mrs Purnell would make a fuss.

Mrs Purnell smiled widely. She opened her arms and beckoned for both boys to come to her. Once they had, she grabbed them into a huge hug. "My son is also like you, and he was scared to tell me. I felt so bad when he finally did and was cowering away as if I would hurt him. I'm always serious, but never mistake that for being an evil witch, okay boys? I do try, now, to be more friendly seeming, yet..."

Jason responded quickly, "... yet you see so much crap happening to kids, you can't help bottling up your heart. Don't, Mrs Purnell. Don't hide your heart."

"How did you...?"

"I... oh... ummm...."

Dafydd rescued his son quickly, "He's very intuitive. Pay it no mind."

She looked at them all quickly, then shrugged. "Right then. I approve and Safe Haven is formally invoked, especially if you are getting a new home. Even boyfriends need some time alone," she winked at them. "Also, call me Mary. Second, I live in Bridgend when not away on business. My son is a bit shy, and thinks that he will never find any good friends. For some reason, he has no friends in Bridgend at all, and doesn't know anyone who has feelings like his. Now, I'm not asking you to become his friends if you don't want to, boys, but could you..." She trailed off, looking at Nathan and Jason in turn.

Nathan tilted his head to one side and smiled. "I think, if he's like you, Ma'am, then we'd be great friends."

Mary sighed in relief. She turned to Angela, "You are a teacher at Glanafan? I've heard good things about that school. None of the ones in Bridgend are worth a damn, so how easy would it be for me to transfer my boy there?"

"Give me his papers and I'll do it all for you. I'm the new Headmistress as of start of term." Angela smiled warmly. "Also, if the boys get along, your son can stay with us midweek until we move closer to Bridgend, then he can travel in with us."

"Don't worry too much, Mrs Ev..."

"Angela."

"... Angela. I have my parents house here in Port Talbot still empty. I never wanted to sell my old home, and now that my husband has left me, I have no real need to stay in Bridgend. I think I'll move down here, especially if my Tony gets on with your children."

Victoria asked quietly, "How old is Tony?"

"Just turned twelve last month. Sort of like your brothers; very fast finding things out about himself."

"Cool, another 'brother' to tease!"

Angela looked sternly at her daughter, "Now, you behave. Don't scare off the poor kid!"

With a cheeky grin at her mother and brothers she replied, "Would I do that??"

"Yes!" came the response from four voices, causing Mary to really break her reserve and start laughing.

Nathan, after waiting for Mary to calm down, queried curiously, "Why did your husband leave, ma'am?"

Mary's face grew hard, then she sighed in sadness and restrained anger. "Tony. He told his dad first, as he thought he would understand before I would. He had always seemed such a good man! It was not so. My husband, was... he was really a bigot. He hit my baby. Gave him a black eye! When I asked Tony what had happened, I got some bull about a fight in school. Now, I'm no fool, and I know when those I love are lying to me. I got the truth from him, and he was in the corner cowering from me as he told me. He thought that if his 'loving' dad had hit him once, I would have beaten him senseless. Well, after comforting him as best I could, I went in search of that... of my husband. He had already packed and gone. When I found him, he said he would 'not be a father to a faggot'. I had him arrested by Starfleet Security, which is something I'm allowed to do in child abuse cases. I received hell for it from the Social Services, but... no question in my mind; any man, or woman, who hurts a child on purpose for ANY reason... Not happening. Not when I have anything to say about it, and as it turned out I did. He's gone. And the happier I am for it."

Nathan moved over and hugged Mary tightly. "We'll be your family, if you want, ma'am."

"Please, call me Mary."

"Aunt Mary?"

"That will be lovely, Nathan." She hugged him tightly before wiping a tear from her eyes, then started entering data and information into her tricorder. "Captain, I'll have this all completed in an hour. Could I use your comm–station, please? I need to contact Federation HQ in San Francisco."

"Certainly. Follow me, it's in the back lounge."

Jason asked quickly, "Aunt Mary? Where's Tony? If his dad is gone, he's not home alone, is he?"

"No," she replied, as she stood to follow Dafydd. "He came with me, but like I said, he's shy. He didn't want to come in, so he's in the car reading a book."

The kids looked at each other quickly before speeding out of the room and through the front door.

Antony Parnell was a slight boy, with pitch black hair, dark brown, almost black eyes, yet he was very tall for his age. He was spread out on the back seat of the car, fully engrossed in his book. He was a bit of a book worm, due to his shyness, which he believed was not helped by the glasses he had to wear. He thought they made him look geeky. He was so engrossed in the Silmarillion that the back door being opened suddenly nearly scared him out of his skin.

He looked up at three smiling faces beaming at him, and hesitantly smiled back. "Err, hi? Is there a problem?"

Victoria shook her head, "Nope! Well only one, I suppose. You're not inside with us!"

"Pardon?" Antony pulled himself upright and stared at first her, then at the two boys. "What do you mean?"

Nathan took over, "Aunt Mary is inside, making me a part of their family for real, and she said you were out here. We're not having that, so out you get, and in you come!"

Jason reached in and heaved the slender kid out of the car. Antony was too shocked to do much other than let these kids move him about. He stood upright and Jason gaped at him. "Jesus, you're tall!"

Antony blushed. "Mam said I've hit my growth spurt," he stuttered shyly.

"Cool. Me and Nath' haven't yet. But it's cold out here. Come on, we have hot coco inside, and one has your name on it." Jason and Nathan took one of Antony's hands in each of theirs and started leading the way, Victoria took up the rear to make sure he did not escape.

They got him inside and through to the kitchen, where Angela was making four hot drinks. Jason had sent her a message, and while she was unable to reply, he knew she would be getting them ready. "Okay, one each. Tony? Here you go, sweety. Enjoy." Antony was sat down at the nearest table and the mug was placed before him. A plate of biscuits was moved closer, as well as a few mince pies and a slice of Christmas cake.

Antony sipped the drink slowly and looked around at the others. "Sorry if I'm being rude, but who are you? I don't even know ya names!"

"Jace!" Angela looked sternly at her son, "Don't you dare tell me you yanked this poor boy in here without even introducing yourselves!"

"Sorry, Mam," he apologized, "but it was cold out there! I'll do that now!" He turned to Antony and started pointing each of them out, "I'm Jason, but you can call me Jace. This is Nathan, or Nath', and this is our sister, Victoria. We call her Viccy for short. This is my Mam, Angela, and Dad is in the back room with your Mam. He's Dafydd."

Angela rolled her eyes in exasperation before turning back to the sink. Antony blinked and smiled shyly. "Hi. Umm, Nath'?"

"Yeah?"

"Why'd ya call Mam 'Aunt Mary'?"

"She said we could call her 'Mary', but I liked Aunt Mary better. So did she." Nathan answered with a grin.

Antony started grinning too. He glanced at Angela's back and asked, "Cool. Umm, could I call you Aunt Angela too, please?"

She turned at the question and her breath caught in her chest as the longing sound in his voice hit her. "Sure you can, sweety. Come here." She opened her arms and he flew at her for a hug. "The more family, the better, yes?"

"Uhuh," he mumbled softly.

Dafydd walked into the kitchen at that point. "Mary is talking to her superiors in San Francisco, and will be a short while. So, this is Tony? Nice to meet you, son." Antony looked at Dafydd with trepidation. He took in the Starfleet Captain's uniform and relaxed slightly, but the black eye he carried and the memory from a week past was still fresh. Dafydd noticed and knelt down slowly. "Son, I'm sorry your father did that to you, but you have nothing to worry about here." Dafydd looked at Jason and asked silently for permission. Jason nodded in answer. "Jace and Nath' here are just like you, and they are boyfriends. Ange and I have no problems with them, nor with you. At all."

"Really??" Antony's eyes darted between Dafydd's and his two new friends. "You're boyfriends? Seriously?!"

"You bet they are," Victoria answered for them before Nathan or Jason could. "And they're noisy!!"

"Viiiic!!" Nathan wailed, again blushing until he glowed. Antony started howling with laughter at the faces of the other two.

"Victoria, you leave them alone!" Angela said sternly.

"Yes, Mammy." she pouted.

Jason thought it was a good time to make a break from their sister for a while. "Tony? Wanna come upstairs and play on the Playstation for a while?"

"Sure," he smiled happily. He still looked shell–shocked at the sudden acceptance he had received from this strange group of people, but the beginnings of hope could be seen on his face. 'I might actually have friends!' he thought to himself. The smile and glimmer in Jason's eye as he thought this puzzled him, however. 'Did he just read my mind?' Another smile, and mirth appeared in Jason's face. 'Naa, not possible,' Antony decided as he stood to go with them.

Victoria sighed, and left the room. She hated the game console, and both Jason and Nathan knew they would have some peace at last from her. The three boys made their way upstairs with their drinks and as many biscuits and pasties as they could carry between them.

After shutting the door tightly, all three boys sat before the T.V. and console and Jason started going through the available games. Antony sat quietly and watched the other two argue playfully over what to play. Once they had decided, they offered the choice of three games to him for the final say. He blinked in confusion. "Why me? Why'd ya want me to choose?"

"You're our new friend and the guest, Tony." Nathan responded easily.

Antony fought back tears. "It's been a long time since I had... friends. Thanks..." He pointed out Soul Reaver 2 and smiled timidly at them, "That one okay?"

"Sure! We love that one. Here, you go first!" Jason said, as both he and Nathan pulled Antony in between them both and put their arms around his waist. Antony really had to fight back the tears; he had friends.

"How long have you two been, well, together?" Antony asked hesitantly as they finished their third game.

Nathan giggled, "Since last night!"

Antony blinked, "Damn, you guys are lucky! Christmas day? Wow!"

Jason laughed. "Not the half of it! We're brothers too, now!"

"Yeah!" Nathan echoed as he pulled Jason in closer. Antony looked on happily, yet with a hint of envy.

"I wish I was lucky," he sighed. "I'm happy for ya, but..."

"We know," Jason said as he pulled Antony into his other side and hugged himself between both his boyfriend and new friend. "We'll help ya from now on, though. There's someone out there for you."

Antony nodded, yet his eyes kept their doubt on that statement. He sighed again, then asked curiously, "How old are you two?"

"Both eleven. We're twelve in April." Jason answered.

Nathan added, "Him seven days before me. What about you? We know your twelve, but when was your birthday?"

"Second of December."

"Sweet," Nathan leaned forward turn off the console. His finger never reached the switch, though, when it clicked to the off position. "What the...?"

The other two leaned forward as well and stared at the console. "What? Is it faulty?"

"Nuh uh! I did it, I know I did! But how?" Nathan stammered, staring at his finger. He looked at the other two, and a shiver went through him. Jason's eyes had grown far away and he felt a slight touch or tickle in his mind.

"Oh, my God! Nath', you did, didn't you? Jesus! DAAAD!!" Jason yelled excitedly.

"What? What's going on?" Antony asked nervously. He was staring at both the others, and saw Jason was nearly ecstatic with excitement, while Nathan was as confused as he was.

Before they could ask any more questions the door burst open as their parents and Mary came barreling in. "What's wrong... Damnit, Jason! Don't yell like that unless someone is hur..." Dafydd started to say angrily before seeing the serious look on Jason's face. Seriousness, yet also restrained excitement warred there. "Okay, what is it, Jace?"

'Nathan is telekinetic, Dad,' Jason sent to his father. 'It's just manifested itself. Just like your science officer told me to look for. My Nath' is telekinetic!'

'Are you sure?' Dafydd sent back.

'Positive, Dad, it's there.'

"What's going on?" Mary was lost at the long look both father and son were exchanging.

"Come here, Mary," Angela answered, "I'll try and explain..."

"So let me get this right. You're telepathic, Angela is empathic, and your kids are both? And now Nathan is telekinetic?" Mary asked, as she tried to make sense of it all.

Jason nodded, "Yeah. Commander Tulek, Dad's First Officer, talked to us about it. He taught me and Viccy how to use some of our abilities better. Although Viccy is stronger empathy–wise, it did help her with talking to us. He also taught me how to tell if others have powers by scanning them. It's just that I've never scanned my Nath'. Never had need to."

Mary sat back, barely able to believe anything she had been told. "I know it's hard to take in, Mary, but it's all true." Dafydd assured her. "Humanity, it seems, is beginning to develop these skills. Or maybe they were here all along, and are only now coming to our attention. Whatever it is, it's an advantage, especially if we use it to everyone's benefit."

"So I can imagine," she looked at Jason curiously.

"Jason, could you check me?" Antony asked with growing excitement.

"Sure, but I'll say now, if you've not manifested it yet, I'd not tell. Some people have it already turned on when they are born, others grow into it. Most, though, don't have anything. Don't feel bad if you don't, okay?"

Antony nodded seriously, "Sure. I won't really mind. It would just be cool, is all!"

"Okay," and Jason closed his eyes. Antony jerked at a sudden tickle he felt in his mind. A tingling seemed to rush across his eyes and he giggled at the sensation. Jason opened his eyes and looked curiously at him. "You're a sensitive, that's for certain. I can't really tell, Tony. You might have something there, but I'm not sure what. Could be empathy, or something like it, but then, you could just be a sensitive."

Antony nodded and smiled, "I could feel ya looking in there. It tickled."

"I felt the same earlier," Nathan stated, "would a telekinetic feel that, though, Jace?"

"Not as far as I know, but you've also got empathy in there. That's why you felt it. Plus, you and I are very close, so you'd feel me anyhow. I was not trying to hide my presence from you, nor will I ever."

Victoria giggled and fluttered her eyes teasingly at both boys, and received a cushion in the face for her trouble. After throwing it back at Nathan, she smiled impishly at him. "Pain," he muttered with a grin.

Dafydd smiled indulgently before addressing the room, "Well, since we managed to get everything with Nath' sorted, and since lunch time is coming close, how about we all go up to the Hood and eat there? Things went on a little longer than we thought, here, and Ange could sure use the break."

Mary looked dubious, but everyone else seemed more than excited. "Okay," she muttered, "but if I get my atoms scrambled over the whole solar system, I'll sue!"

"You'll be fine, Aunt Mary. We've done this loads of times!" Jason assured her.

Nathan looked even more excited than everyone else, even more so than Antony. Neither had been to space before, especially not on a Constitution Class Starship, but Nathan had a deep seated love of all things to do with the Federation. As they all stood and were arranged into position by Dafydd, he was constantly told to stop bouncing and remain still. Eventually, after a brief kiss from Jason that took his breath away, they were ready.

"Evans to Hood transporter room," he said into his communicator.

"Transporter room; go ahead, Captain."

"Seven to beam up. Energize when ready."

Seconds later, the room was empty.

USS Hood, NCC–1703–A

Deck D

"Tel, haven't you finished that shower yet?" Dr Graham Fisher called through the bathroom door in their temporary quarters.

"No, father," came the response, the tone belying the neutral phrasing. Telez was not happy.

His father sighed heavily. "Son, I know you don't like Florida, but there's not much I can do. There's air conditioning installed in the house, so you will be fine, I promise."

"You know I like being outside a lot! I can't do that as much there, it's just too uncomfortable for more than a few hours!"

"I know, I know. I'm sorry, Tel; really I am."

"Why can't I stay here? You know I'm well behaved," Telez' tone was plaintive, and Graham was nearly swayed to agree by it.

"I know you are, and I wish I could, but I cannot see Starfleet allowing an eleven year old to stay aboard ship alone."

Silence.

After a moment, the door opened and Telez walked out slowly and hugged his father with a soft whimper. He said quietly, "Yes, I know, Daddy. I'm sorry for whining."

Graham hugged him close, "That's okay. Come on. We'll have lunch up here first and then go see your grandparents. I'll try and get some trips to a colder area for you at some point."

Telez shuddered, "They do not like me, Dad. They never have."

Graham closed his eyes. He knew that to be true. They never could see past his son's blue skin and antennae. Half Human or not, it was his Andorian heritage they detested. He sighed again, and kissed his son's light blond, almost white hair. "Come on, it's not for long. A few days, and then we'll be back here. Not long until the shakedown cruise, and I promise, you'll get to spend time on the Bridge. The Captain is an old friend of mine. Not seen him for years before last month, though, but he's not changed. You'll love him."

Telez raised his head and looked his father in the eyes. His own, bright blue, with a hint of violet in them, shined with unshed tears of frustration. He did, however, nod in agreement. He was Andorian. 'Pride, honor, dignity,' he thought to himself. His antennae stood tall in determination as he gathered himself internally and thought back on the lessons from home, from Andoria. "I hope I will, father. I will get dressed now."

He re–entered the bathroom and the door closed behind him. Graham sighed heavily and turned back to get himself ready. 'Ah, it'll all work out.'

Deck G would never be the same, or so Dafydd thought humorously as he watched Nathan examine everything and comment extensively. Antony was very nearly as bad, yet his natural shyness restrained him from acting as wildly as Nathan. Victoria and Jason just laughed at them both. The group just managed to fit in the turbolift and soon they had arrived on Deck C, Officer's Lounge. Once sat at one of the larger Dining Area tables, Dafydd set about getting their orders and headed for the kitchen area. Only a skeleton crew was aboard, yet the kitchens were as busy as if a full ship's complement was there.

Jason was busy explaining to Antony and Nathan some of the workings of the ship, as only an eleven year old who has visited a starship once before can, when the entry doors opened. Jason stopped dead in his recitation as he saw that Antony's attention had been snatched away suddenly. He followed Antony's gaze and saw the ship's doctor with a young Andorian boy; and the boy was staring right back at Antony. Jason turned and caught Nathan's gaze and they both started to laugh quietly. When Dafydd came back with some of the kitchen staff and the food, he saw the doctor and called him over.

"Afternoon, Graham; how are you and Telez doing?" he asked as they came closer.

Graham made a rueful face but said, "Not that bad, really."

Telez' face was certainly not agreeing with that statement, nor did he take his eyes off Antony longer than was needed to stare at his father with a mild resentment that quickly disappeared. Victoria picked up on the changes to the emotions from Antony and giggled as she noticed the same from Telez. What was funnier was the way Telez' antennae were practically pointed at Antony, and Antony was either watching their subtle movements or taking in as much of Telez' eyes as he could.

"I don't think your lad agrees, Doc," Dafydd said with amusement. He too had noticed the looks, as had Graham. Both men grinned at each other, but then Graham got serious.

"Can I have a word with you in private, Daf?" he asked quietly.

Dafydd gestured with one arm towards the empty lounge area and both men walked away. Telez did not notice. Jason coughed to catch his attention before offering, "Want to join us? We can grab you something while our dads talk."

"Thank you," Telez nodded as he sat opposite Antony.

"I'm Jason, by the way. This is Nathan, that's Victoria, and that's my Mam, Angela."

Antony jumped in with, "I'm Tony... err, I mean Antony, but people call me Tony."

Mary smiled as she saw her son's vacant look, so she added, "And I'm Mary, his mother."

"Pleased to meet you all. I am Telez Zorin–Fisher, Son of Graham Thomas Fisher of Earth, Son of Theia Zorin of the Andorian Empire." Telez stated formally. "I thank you for making me welcome."

Nathan was taken aback by the formality, and glanced at Jason in surprise. 'Andorian's are a proud and honorable race, Nath'. They do not become familiar in their speech unless very close to someone.' Jason projected. He looked at Antony, wondering if he too needed to be told, but Antony still had that far away look in his eyes as he gazed at Telez. For his part, Telez was just as far away as he returned the gaze. Jason rolled his eyes and turned his attention to his food.

Victoria's giggles subsided and she asked Telez, "What do ya want to eat? Telez?" She waved her hand in front of his eyes to grab his attention.

He jerked back with a start, "What? Oh, I am sorry. What did you say, Victoria?"

"Food. What would you like?"

He glanced at her plate absently and shrugged. "I do not mind. Whatever you are eating looks okay."

She grinned, "Okay, I'll get ya a plate. You can stare at Tony again, if ya want."

Telez blushed, his face darkening to a dark sapphire shade, yet he did turn back to Antony, much to everyone's gentle amusement.

Dafydd and Graham returned just as Victoria placed Telez' food before him, and they all sat to eat. Telez and Antony had to be constantly reminded to eat, however, and by the end of the meal Graham's smile was as amused as the rest.

After finishing the meal, everyone had relocated to the Lounge area. The children had gathered together where the Evans kids tried to get more than a few words from Telez and Antony. The adults sat together and watched fondly for a few moments. Mary spoke first, "I hope you're not disappointed with your boy's choice in friends, Doctor."

"No," he replied softly, "Andorians have very little by way of hang ups sexually, and what we call 'gay' is not a problem with them. They love whomever they love and neither Heaven nor Hell will change it. Same for me and my late wife."

"Ah, I am sorry. My condolences on your loss." she replied sadly.

"Thanks. It is a dim pain, now. It is my son I fear most for, however."

"Oh? What is the problem?" Mary asked quickly.

"It's the reason I had a quick word with Dafydd here before the meal," he replied, nodding at his old friend and new Captain.

Dafydd smiled and added, "Yes. We need to talk seriously about this problem, Angela, and your input will be needed as well, Mary. Doc here really needs our help."

Mary and Angela sat forward and nodded for them both to continue. Graham sighed wryly, "Daf, I wish you'd use my name. How'd you like being called 'Cap' all the time?"

"Sounds good!" he joked. "Hey, you were the first of us to achieve our aims, so you get the honor of the nickname!"

"I give up," the Doc glanced at the two ladies, "I just hope you two will call me Graham, though."

They both exchanged a look, and shook their heads with a wicked gleam in their eyes.

"Oh well, I tried. Anyway, here's my problem. I lost my wife and all her family two years ago. You may have heard of that disaster on Andoria when part of the cavern containing the city of Kumar collapsed? One whole district was... simply gone." he paused as he held back the tears of that remembered pain. Dafydd placed his hand comfortingly on his shoulder and after a moment or two the Doc continued brokenly, "It was plain luck that I had taken leave and was on my way to earth with Tel. He was nine and excited to see my home world for the first time. We had only just arrived when the news came in. Starfleet dispatched three ships to aid the Imperial Guard, but it was all in vain. No–one in that district survived, and the entire Zorin family was lost; save my son. He was inconsolable for weeks, and I only just held it together.

"Now, after two years, I still have to take him with me wherever I am posted in the Fleet. And that is our problem; life in Starfleet is dangerous enough for adults. Throwing children into the mix is worse. How can I do my job properly if I am always worrying about my little boy?"

Mary quietly asked, "What about your family, Graham? Can you not leave him on earth?"

He shook his head, "No. My only family here lives in Florida, and that reason alone would put a problem on his being here. He likes the outside a lot, loves it in fact. But the temperature in Florida weakens him. Andoria is nearly always below freezing, which to them is lovely. He can adapt to a starship and in fact loves it on board, but on earth, he has to be somewhere cool. Staying indoors all the time would be cruel to expect of him." He sighed heavily, "Besides, my parents hate him. I detest how they treat him, as much as I love them. I rarely see them, now. I am only going down for a few days as it is, and to see my son upset by their reactions to him is going to be hard. I have given them years to get over this, but... Well, let's just say, if they don't change soon, I'm cutting all ties. I've had it. But you see, for two very good reasons, Tel can't stay with them. So Daf here said... he offered..." the Doc trailed off helplessly as the tears began falling.

Angela reached out and took his hand briefly. She knew already what her husband was thinking, and not because of his telepathy. She simply knew him too well. "Graham, if you would like it, we can have your son with us while you are away."

Mary also nodded her head. "I cannot see a problem there either, unless it's with the time between now and when you get that new home of yours. By the way, how big is that new house, Angela?"

"Huge. It's more like an old country state house than a farm. And we're moving there day after tomorrow. We'll be in our caravan for a week while we fix up a few items, but it's a 8 berth van, so no problems even then."

The Doc looked at her gratefully. He smiled, "You sure? An Andorian boy is a lot of work, even one as well behaved as Tel."

"No child is too much trouble, Graham. They are all worth it." Dafydd stated firmly. "Now, the problem is, which of us is going to tell them the news? And, I just wonder what one certain Tony will think!"

They all grinned, and the Doc laughed slightly, his tears slowing to a stop. "I will, I think. Oh, could you take him right away, or do you want me to have him in..."

"Stop, Dr Fisher, stop right there. If your parents are that way, then I don't think your kid needs more shit from them," Mary stated in her full force, all business tone. "If Daf and Ange can't have him for a few days, I certainly can. I'm off duty as of two hours ago for the next two weeks. I could easily have him as well."

"And there's not a problem our end either. So we'll take him back today. Please stop by in a day or so, Graham. We still have room even with five kids in the house. Yes, Mary, I fully expect a few sleep–overs." Dafydd stated firmly. The Doc knew they were both serious, especially his old friend at the use of his name. "There's the settee in the back living room, turns into a bed, so you can spend some time with us. Get to know my family."

"Thank you. All three of you. This is just... it means so much to me."

"You're quite welcome, Doc," Angela said with a teasing smile, "now, go tell your boy the news. I just hope he likes it."

Meanwhile...

"I wonder if they are breathing now or not..."

"Could be, but I think they are broken."

"Boys! I mean, come on! What's with the goo–goo–gaa–gaa looks?"

"Hush, Vic! You're just jealous!"

"Am not!"

"Yes, you are. Nath's right."

"Oh, take his side, like that's a surprise!"

"Wh...what? What's the matter? Anything wrong?"

"Wow, he lives! No, Tony. Nothing. Just the vacant looks you two are exchanging worried us."

"We were not vacant, Jason."

"What were we saying, then, Telez?"

Silence...

"I think they are broken again..."

"Shall I call Dr Fisher over?"

"I think you'd better, this is worrying."

"Pardon? Oh, my apologies. Did you want something?"

"Jesus! Right, that's it; I give up..."

"Boys? Viccy? Can you come here, please?" Angela called.

"Saved at last!" Victoria exclaimed. "Any more blank, soppy looks and I'd have been sick!"

They all stood and went to the adults, Jason and Nathan guiding the other two boys as they still seemed to be fairly broken. The Doc looked at his son, then snapped his fingers in front of his eyes quickly. Telez jumped and looked at his father in shock.

After getting his son's attention, the Doc pulled him in to stand before him. "Tel, I have something to ask you. Can you focus?"

"Yes, father," he said with a blush. His antennae were still pointed backwards towards Antony, however.

"We've been talking, and if you are happy with it, we have an arrangement for you while I'm off–world."

"Go ahead, father. I am listening."

"Captain Evans' wife, Angela, is willing to look after you while I am in Florida as well as whenever I am on active duty. If you want, and only if you want, you are able to stay with them."

Telez' antennae now darted forwards, "Where do they live?"

"In Wales,a part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. The average temperature there is akin to this ship, if not colder. In the winter, as in right now, it's a lot colder. Some summers are very warm, but not as bad as Florida."

Telez turned and glanced at Antony briefly and turned back with a questioning look at his dad.

"Yes, Antony lives near to Jason, Nathan and Victoria. In fact, Mrs Purnell, Tony's mother, is happy for you to spend time with her, too."

Telez looked at all four adults quickly, before breaking out into a huge smile. "Yes, oh yes, Daddy! I'd love it!" All reserve seemed gone as he flung himself into his father's arms.

Antony literally pounced his mother in excitement as well. Dafydd said, "Well, I think that they like that idea!"

Jason giggled, "Biggest understatement of the year, I think."

"Umm," Nathan looked puzzled. "Not complaining or nuffin', but why is Tel so willing to stay with strangers?"

Graham answered easily, "Because an Andorian child will trust his parents' judgment. If I say it would be okay, he will be okay with it as well." He hugged his son in closer, "Also, an Andorian child believes and is taught that if a parent is doing their duty with honor and diligence, then even if they only see them rarely, they know it is a good thing when they are apart. Tel knows I love him, so he will not miss me the same way you will miss your dad when he is off–world."

"Oh, okay," Nathan smiled happily.

Telez drew back from his father and looked at the others happily. "Thanks, Captain. Thanks, Mrs Evans. This is really great news for me!"

Dafydd looked surprised at the sudden drop in formality. He drew Telez in for a hug and said, "Call us by our names, son. Or even Uncle and Aunt, if you'd like."

"Thanks," Telez grinned happily in his arms. He glanced back at his father and his antennae shifted in an odd pattern. Graham nodded seriously at the unasked question.

Telez stood spoke formally, "I, Telez, Son of the Empire, do offer myself as Family to you. Nephew to Uncle. Nephew to Aunt. Cousin to Cousins. Do you accept?"

Dafydd motioned Angela to his side as well as his three children. He answered on their behalf as was proper for andorian law, "Uncle to you, Aunt to you, Cousins to you. You and your family are now as us, and we are as you."

"Very well done, Daf," Graham said as he stood up, "I thought I'd have had to rescue you for a moment there."

Telez was now in the middle of a group hug with the Evans family, tears flowing openly. "We have a big family again, daddy," he sobbed quietly.

"Yes... yes, we do." Graham smiled at them all before continuing, "Now, I believe that two here require a tour of sickbay for a quick check up?"

Nathan blushed suddenly, but Jason said in his stead, "Yes, sir. Just to make sure everything is okay."

"Okay, if you will all follow me, we'll have a quick tour of the ship, and finish off in sickbay."

"Well, that's all done, Nathan," Graham said happily, "and I am glad to say, nothing is wrong at all. Both you and your boyfriend are healthy."

Jason pulled Nathan off the biobed and hugged him happily, "Sweet! Thanks, Doc!"

"Yeah, thanks!"

Telez looked on in puzzlement. "Why was this check up needed, Jason? If I am allowed to ask, that is?"

Nathan spoke instead, "Cos my old father used to touch me a lot. You know... down there. I was worried..."

"I see," Telez' eyes grew hard as agates. "I hope he has been dealt with."

Nathan nodded, "He was arrested day before yesterday."

"Good. Does your planet castrate child abusers, Captain?"

Dafydd's eyes opened wide, "There are a few countries that do, Telez, but not the United Kingdom. Unless someone invokes Vulcan Law as it is recognized as being above Earth Law in a lot of cases."

"Is it?" Nathan asked curiously.

"Yes, Nath'. The Federation might have been suggested by Earth's League of Nations in '55, but it was Vulcan that ran with the idea. Even the Andorian Empire recognized that Vulcan Law is more direct, however their own is almost as good. They follow their own, but it is Earth Law which is so messed up and so many cases are pushed to be under Vulcan law. The Federation might be joint between the four founding member planets, but Vulcan Ethics and Law is paramount until we catch up to it. And the Federation Council and the League of Nations agreed to allow Vulcan Law to hold power over Terran Law."

"Cool! Can we push for that in 'his' case?"

Dafydd smiled coldly, "I was thinking about it. It will depend on what the judge involved decides. If he is too lenient, then yes, I, or you mother, will bring the Vulcans in."

Jason grinned as Telez stated, "Good!"

"Okay, who wants to see the Bridge before we go?"

"ME!!!" five voices yelled happily.

"And I think engineering heard you, too! Follow me, then." The group made their way out, the sound of happy children talking a mile a minute setting the tone.

Commander Tulek was sitting in the Command Chair completing the last of the reports. The Hood was now fully ready and able to start it's shakedown cruise. All that was required was for the crew to be assembled and months of preparation would be rewarded. As the Vulcan laid the datapad down on his lap briefly, he allowed himself the luxury of a deep, slow sigh. He found that some human mannerisms actually helped center himself, but would only ever partake in such when alone. There was the dignity of his House to consider, not to mention his planet. He gazed around the empty bridge and then at the forward viewscreen. No longer within Terra–Main space dock but in geosynchronous orbit above the heartland of the Commonwealth, the starfield before his eyes was, even in his own opinion, a breathtaking sight. He could easily make out his home star in the field ahead, and he knew to the second how far he was from it at maximum warp. Such a sight.

He turned when he heard the voices of children coming through the closed turbolift doors. A few seconds later, the noise level increased exponentially as they doors opened to disgorge five children and the Captain. The turbolift at the other side of the bridge also opened to allow the ship's doctor and two ladies to step out. Tulek stood. "Greetings, Captain, Doctor. How can I be of assistance?"

"Just a tour of the best place on the ship, Commander. I promise little damage will be done," Dafydd said with a wry smile.

Tulek raised an eyebrow and let his gaze fall on the four human children before him and on their andorian companion. "Greetings, Telez. And greetings, Jason and Victoria. Could you introduce me to your companions?"

Telez did so quickly, but with distraction. This was his first chance to see the bridge of this ship, and he was captivated, just as Nathan and Antony were. Tulek did notice, though, that both Antony and Telez were hand in hand, as were Nathan and Jason. He nodded to himself, and then glanced at his Captain before turning to the ladies. "Greetings. I am Tulek, of the House of Mazak of Vulcan."

"Greetings, Tulek. I am Angela Evans, Captain Evans' wife. This is our new friend, Mrs Mary Purnell, Federation Liaison to the UK Social Services."

"I am pleased to make your acquaintance. Would you like a tour of the bridge? I would not be wrong in saying I know it best, since I helped design the new Constitution Class version in use." Tulek addressed the question to all but the other two officers.

Receiving nods and vocal agreement from the kids, he turned and started at his station, Sciences.

It took over half an hour, what with all the questions asked of him, but eventually Tulek completed the tour, and the children were seated comfortable about the bridge. He went over to the captain and stood near. "Sir, all ship's systems are now ready and awaiting our orders. We are set for the departure eight days hence."

"Very good, commander. Thank you. Are you taking any leave yourself before we depart?"

"Yes, sir. A distant relative is on earth in conference with Starfleet Command, and I have arranged to meet with him in a day's time. It has been fifty years since I have seen my cousin, Ambassador Sarek."

"Ah, please pass my regards to the Ambassador. Let him know I look forward to our meeting on the 31st of December."

"I will, Captain." Turning, the Vulcan beckoned Jason over.

"Yes, Commander Tulek?"

"I believe it is customary to give gifts at this time of year. I have a book I believe you will enjoy. Here, young Jason." From the Science station Tulek retrieved an old looking book and handed it gently to the young boy.

"Th...thanks, sir! But... I am afraid I have nothing for you, though!"

"That is not needful, Jason. I will be pleased to know you read and enjoy this book, maybe even that your sister and T'hy'la enjoy it too."

Nathan glanced over at the strange word. "T'hy'la?"

Dafydd chuckled. "It's Vulcan for soul–mate, friend, brother, life–partner," he told the boy. Watching Nathan smile shyly up at Tulek, Dafydd continued, "Don't ever be surprised that a Vulcan sees things others don't, but you being hand in hand with Jason was a dead giveaway!"

Jason smiled, then turned his attention to the old book he held. It was written in Vulcan, but he was learning it in school. He read out the title haltingly, "'The Shattering of the Last...' ahhh... I'm sorry, Commander. I cannot translate this word."

Tulek completed the title without even glancing at it, "'The Shattering of the Last S'harien'."

Jason looked up at him in wonder. Nathan came over and also looked at the title. "S'harien?"

"An ancient Vulcan combat sword," stated Tulek. "It traslates as 'Pierceblood'."

"Sounds neat, but why is Jace looking like he's had all his birthday's at once?"

"It's... Nath', you know I love books on legends? Well, Vulcan has legends too, and the greatest, this one, is over 1700 years old..."

Nathan smiled at Jason's joy.

Jason grinned at him, "I've heard the tale a few times and each time it's different. I've always wanted to read the original." He turned and addressed Tulek, "This is an original copy, correct?"

"Correct, young Jason. My own, and copied from the original, word for word."

Jason looked down on the book he held reverently, "... the Legend of Sa'ren..."

To be continued...

Author's Note:

Well...

AAKD had me and no mistake in that chapter!

I hope you all enjoyed it. I certainly loved writing it. Telez really took me by surprise! An Andorian... this will be fun!

Oh... and about that end?

Mwhahahahahahaha! Complaints? Well, send a email to iluvantir@cornercafe.us ... I won't bite, honest!

(Small note: The words Mam and Mammy are used where in the Americas it would be Mom or Mommy. In most of the UK it is Mum or Mummy. However, in wales the welsh for 'mother' is 'mam'. It is the word I used as a child, as did most of my friends. Mammy was therefore the little child version of it and not a racist phrase as it could be taken in the US. Just so you are all aware.)

Hugs and God Bless,

Ilúvantír

Editor's Notes:

Now this story is really cool. I wouldn't have expected anything less from Ilú though. Thank you for this wonderful chapter of an exciting story. I think we are going to like these guys. I can't help but think that this is going to be a wonderful story.

Darryl AKA The Radio Rancher

Clan Archivist's Review Notes:

This chapter continues on directly with the roller coaster action of the Prologue "The Sound of Reindeer Bells". Ilúvantír has also continued right along with his usual excellent character development. He has done a wonderful job creating 3D Characters rather than the usual 2D Characters you find in so many other stories.

I don't envy Angela though as once Dafydd leaves on his next cruise she is going to have her hands full with five preteens. I wish her a lot of luck.

I believe this is going to be a very interesting story and I sincerely hope though that Ilúvantír doesn't forget his other wonderful CSU Story "Sa'ren" otherwise a very good friend of mine will be very upset that he doesn't get to read about his cousin Joel.
