Girls screamed all around me, but I stood silent, looking at the girls all in hysterics, hoping to catch a glimpse of Teen star SK O’Donnell, Disney’s latest sensation. I made a noise, and my own daughter turned and gave me a scathing stare.
“Moooom, he is like such a hottie. He’s like totes amazeballs.”
“Sometimes I don’t understand you,” I sighed.
“You are such an old fart,” she cried dramatically.
“O. M. G. here he comes,” my daughter turned. I looked over the heads of the teens and tweens to the red carpet leading up to London’s Leicester Square cinema.
Then along came SK O’Donnell, seventeen, and originally from Northern Ireland before moving to the States. According to Popstar and Girls Life, he was the hottest thing on the planet right now.
“SK, SK over here!” my daughter called, and he gave his world-class grin, looked over his sunglasses and stepped over. He signed her photo, looked up, and our eyes met.
“So, who’s that beautiful woman?” he asked, admittedly with a cute Irish accent.
“My Mom,” my daughter said with disgust.
“Well, aren’t you stunning,” he said charmingly, and I felt my cheeks heat up.
“I’m old enough to be your mother.”
“But then I couldn’t give you a proper kiss,” he pouted, and I giggled like a schoolgirl. I leaned forward, and he kissed me on the cheek then signed my arm, touching my bum as he did. Then he was gone, and I was left feeling dazed.
“O. M. G Mom!”
“What?”
“You are, like, so old!” she said in disgust.
“He is well too young for me,” I said brusquely. “Don’t you be telling your father!”
“I won’t,” she said with a grin; I knew she would hold this over my head for the rest of her life.
