Cry Me A River ~ A Poem

Cry Me A River ~ A Poem

Author's Note:

I have no idea why I wrote this other than to get the words out of my head so I could sleep. Somehow, I got the title to the song Cry Me a River by Arthur Hamilton © 1953 stuck in my head and over a few nights it evolved into this.

Cry Me A River

Cry me a river,

Deep and cold.

Cry me a river,

Wide and bold.

Cry me a river,

To wash my cares away.

Cry me a river,

Deep and cold.

Cry me a river,

Wide and bold.

Cry me a river,

To wash the blues away.

Cry me a river,

Deep and bold.

Cry me a river,

Wide and bold.

Cry me a river,

To carry me away.

Cry me a river,

Of silver and gold.

Cry me a river,

Wide and bold.

Cry me a river,

To bring me my love.

Cry me a river,

Of silver and gold.

Cry me a river,

Wide and bold.

Cry me a river,

To carry my joy.

Cry me a river,

Of silver and gold.

Cry me a river,

Wide and bold.

Cry me a river,

To carry me, my love,

And my joy.

Comment as always greatly appreciated at The Story Lover.
