Chapter 3 - Sunshine

Recap of part 2: Keaton finally came to terms with moving to California and boards the plane to his new life. After seeing his new home for the first time he also meets some new people and hopes to see them again soon.

***Important notice*** Recently someone contacted me about the spelling of the name Bjorn. To my understanding the spelling and pronunciation varies amongst different languages. While there is definitely a few ways to say and or spell it, such as "Bjørn" I'm going to stick with Bjorn. Mostly because my keyboard doesn't have a "ø" and I'm too lazy to download a new one. (Yes I type on my phone) I hope this doesn't bother anyone and thank you to the person who pointed this out to me.

Okay let's continue.

Part 3:

I was in for quite the surprise as I closed the door behind me and walked into the main room of my new home. The area was quite open and spacious and not just because of the lack of furniture.

Walking into the house you'll find yourself in a small foyer that opens up into the living room. On the left side of the living room a large flat screen TV is perched on top of an entertainment center. Moving your eyes to the right you'll find a single "L" Shaped leather sofa. Down the center of the room you're greeted with large glass windows and a sliding glass door that gives view to the back yard pool. Beyond that you can get the slightest view of the ocean because of the small hill that the house is perched on.

To the right of the living room is an open kitchen with a granite top island in the middle. Much larger than the kitchen in our last house. Connected to that is the dining room with a large oak table and 4 chairs. If you continue walking right you'll find a hallway that contains the door to the garage, a closet, and a bathroom.

Going back the way you came, going left as soon as you walk into the house, you will find a door to the master bedroom. Next to that is a hallway that leads to a flight of stairs. Going up the stairs you have my bedroom door on the right and a spare bedroom on the left. There is one more door on the left that has a small bathroom in it.

I walked into my new room and took a deep breath trying to take it all in. So far the only furniture in my room is a bed, a desk and chair for homework, a smaller flat screen TV and one dresser. Minus all of the cardboard boxes that take up most of my floorspace of course. This room is identical to the spare bedroom except this one has a connecting bathroom, which is why I chose it obviously. I laid my bag on the bed and started to unpack the boxes. One by one the cardboard boxes started to disappear and the room began to take shape. A poster of my favorite football team took its place on one of my walls. Next to it, my desk started to get populated with some books and drawing supplies as well as my laptop. I had a lot of work to do to finish packing but I was too tired even after my car ride nap to get it all done tonight.

Eventually I felt satisfied with most of my stuff unpacked except for my clothes and climbed into bed. I smiled to myself when reflecting on my day and how hectic it's been. While playing the events over in my head, one thing kept popping up and stopping my train of thought. It was that boy, Bjorn. "Such an odd name" I thought to myself . "He's probably from Norway or Sweden or somewhere like that." But in truth it wasn't his name that had me thinking so much about him. Over and over again I just kept seeing him smile at me. Even in the slight darkness outside his bright blue eyes and white smile stood out. In fact I remember his face a lot more than the other three. I even struggled to remember their names but not Bjorn's. No, Bjorn was unforgettable.

"What the hell am I thinking about" I continued to ramble in my brain. "It's just another boy." And with that thought I rolled over and closed my eyes tightly. Images of Bjorn smiling at me were the last to enter my brain before I finally fell asleep.

My eyes struggled to adjust to the beams of light penetrating the once dark room. But is this my room? Something feels different. I heard the sounds of splashing and yelling in the distance. Turning my head had no effect on my sight as I continued to just see beams of yellow and white in every direction. Finally a new source of color was visible, blue, lots of blue. And the sound of... waves? I must be near the ocean. A voice called out to me. They said my name.

"Keaton.... Keaton...........Keaton!"

My body jerked itself awake and I sat up in a jolt to find my mother in the doorway of my bedroom with a perplexed look on her face.

"Are you okay honey I've been calling your name." She spoke in a soft morning voice.

Still somewhat confused and groggy I responded weakly.

"Yes I'm fine, just a dream."

"Okay Keaty well breakfast is ready so get dressed and come eat."

With that my mother left me in my room to my thoughts while I got dressed. "What a strange dream" I thought. "I remember the sounds of the ocean, maybe I'm just excited to go swimming. But the voice that I heard calling me, it wasn't my mother's." Even though the strange voice sounded familiar I couldn't figure it out and decided to put it out of my mind and continue on with my day.

Breakfast was simple, toast and eggs with coffee. That was all we really had in the house as of right now. My mom talked about grocery shopping with my dad and went over all the things they needed to get today. I was hoping I wouldn't be included in the shopping part because that's not really my forte.

"You coming with us Keaton?" my father asked.

"Actually I was hoping to walk down to the beach and check things out." I said nonchalantly but in my mind I was praying that they wouldn't object.

My mother was about to shoot my idea down when my father spoke up first.

"Sounds like a great idea, chance to make some new friends early." He said approvingly.

My mother shot him a glance before looking at me with eyes of disapproval. I quickly shot back my signature puppy dog eyes right at her. My silent plea for approval was granted as my mother sighed and looked away.

"Yesss, eyes: 1, mother: 0." I thought with a smirk.

"I guess if it's okay with your father then you can go. But be safe. And don't talk to strangers. And call us if you need anything. And stay out of the ocean unless a lifeguard is there. And-" before my mother could finish I was already up and going to my room to change.

"Yes mom I know, I know." I called back at her as I ascended the stairs.

I bounded up the stairs and entered my room. I stripped to my underwear quickly. Most of my clothes were still in boxes and wrinkled beyond wear. Luckily the material of my bathing suit wasn't in such shape and I quickly threw it on. It was a pair of hurley board shorts that had a diagonal line going through the crotch. On one side of the line it was pink and it faded to white on the other side. I then grabbed a faded pink Daytona Beach tank top and threw that on. I slipped on some flip flops and headed to my bathroom to check myself out. After a quick inspection of myself I felt satisfied with my beach attire. I ran a comb through my hair and brushed my teeth before heading back downstairs. My parents were still getting ready to leave so I called out to them and said my goodbyes before heading out the front door.

It was about 10:00 am when I walked outside and was immediately met with sunshine. The warm weather was different here than in Florida. Less humid and more refreshing I think. Heading off my driveway I started for the beach. We had plenty of beaches in Florida but this atmosphere was different and I was excited to feel the water. Around me I saw dozens of people going about their days. A man washing his car with a garden hose, a mother pushing a stroller with her twins in it, and even some kids riding their bikes up and down the street. It was weird to think these were all my neighbors and I may end up knowing all of them soon.

I left my street and crossed the busy highway that ran parallel to the coast. Reaching the other side I found a path that lead down to the shore.

I could smell the salty sea in the air and hear the sounds of kids playing in and around the water. The beach went for miles in each direction with crowds of people enjoying various activities on its warm inviting sand. I followed the path until I finally reached the sand and pulled off my flip flops. With each step afterwards I felt the warm crunch of sand going between my toes and my feet slightly sinking into the earth.

I loved being at the beach.

The sunshine never let up as I made my way to the water. At the time I couldn't even tell that I was smiling, I was just happy I guess.

I walked past some kids playing with a football and thought I noticed a familiar face. Turning my head to get a better look I was greeted with a face full of rubber. The last pass had gone astray and hit me right in the face. I fell to the ground clutching my left eye as the ball bounced in the sand once and came to a stop near me. The pain wasn't too bad but the surprise of the unwanted projectile caused me to freeze a little.

The next thing I heard was someone call out to me.

"Are you alright?" There's was concern in the boy's voice when he spoke.

Forgetting about the ball and my eye I replayed the voice that just spoke out to me in my head.

"I know that voice" I thought to myself.

I've heard it before, not once but twice actually. It was the voice of that boy from before, and it was the voice from my dream.

The shock of the incident and the reoccurring voice quickly faded when I saw someone standing in front of me and then kneel to my level to look me in the eyes... well erm... "eye" I guess.

There was no mistaking who it was, it was Bjorn.

He had a pained and concerned look on his face as he stared at me. The ball hitting my face no longer had an effect on me, but for some reason I was still speechless as I met his gaze.

Then I felt his hand reach out and gently grab ahold of mine. I was so distraught with emotions I could have fainted. I blushed at the contact of our skin and struggled trying to make any sense of it all.

Luckily he spoke before me, not like I could speak anyways.

"Let me see" he said cautiously before pulling my hand away from my eye.

"Helvete. Looks like you're gonna have a blacky my friend." He exclaimed softly while continuing to gaze into my eyes.

"Call it a shiner. That's what we call it." A voice from behind him called out.

The second voice caused me to return to reality and realize I was on a crowded beach surrounded by people. I turned to see the source of the second voice, it was David. Behind him was Michael and Chris. Chris took a step forward and spoke up.

"Hey sorry about hitting you, bad pass I guess. It was an accident I swear."

"It's okay don't worry about it." I finally spoke up.

I heard Michael giggle before pointing down and exclaiming

"So are you two going to kiss?"

I looked down where he was pointing and was frightened and excited by what I saw. Bjorn was still holding my hand from before and I hadn't noticed until now. Me and Bjorn both quickly retracted our hands and blushed.

"Nah I was just gonna help the guy up"

Bjorn said before extending his hand once again, offering to help me to my feet.

I accepted his offer and locked hands with him and stood up with some assistance from Bjorn. Looking back at the other guys David quickly spoke up to break the silence.

"Sorry if we got off on the wrong foot here. We were just playing some football if you want to join us. I promise we won't aim for your head anymore."

"It was an accident!" Chris cried out.

All 5 of us started to laugh at the situation.

"Sure I'll play"

We started throwing the ball back and forth because we didn't have enough people for an actual game. I was athletic enough to keep up with the boys and catch almost every pass thrown at me.

All the while the game was going on I kept sneaking glances at Bjorn.

He was wearing board shorts with grey and white stripes on them. They clung to his body tightly and showed off a profound bubble butt for someone of his age. His shirt was missing but you won't find any complaints from me. Beads of sweat dripped down his smooth white skin and glistened over his defined features. I could make out the faint beginnings of a six pack and what looked to be a V-line whenever he reached up for a pass. His body was slim and toned like mine but you could find developing muscles on his chest and arms that I haven't achieved yet.

I wasn't gay. Or so I thought. On few occasions I would find boys in my sexual fantasies. Okay maybe more than a few.... Okay maybe all of them but I wasn't gay. I just thought of guys the most because I haven't had a girlfriend yet. Not like I wanted one though. But even so, I couldn't stop my mind from wandering when looking at Bjorn.

The next pass I caught was the last as the boys decided that it was time to move on.

"This is getting boring, let's go to the mall" Chris said.

Michael and David agreed with him and then looked at Bjorn and me.

"I really should get home, my parents wouldn't want me to go off too far." I said back.

As the boys were grabbing their stuff I heard Bjorn speak up.

"Maybe I should go with you, you know, to tell your parents what happened to your eye so they don't think we beat you up. And I can tell you about the neighborhood and stuff."

I looked back at Bjorn. Feelings of fear and excitement once again rushed over me. His proposition caught me off guard and I wasn't mentally prepared to be alone with him I thought.

But then again he's just a boy. Who might become my friend. Why shouldn't I be able to walk home with him there's nothing weird about that. I pushed my thoughts to the back of my head and answered casually.

"Sounds cool"

Next thing I knew, me and Bjorn were walking side by side down the sidewalk heading back to my house. Bjorn got the conversation started thankfully.

"Where ya from."

"Florida. Just moved here yesterday."

"Ugh why would you say that, he obviously already knew I just moved here you dummy!" I scolded myself inside my head

"Yeah I noticed" He smiled.

"I'm from Norway but we moved here about two years ago. I think you'll really love it here."

"Yeah me too."

We came to my driveway and I noticed the car was not there. It hasn't been that long so they're not back from shopping yet.

"My parents aren't home yet-

"Can I come inside? You know, until they get here. We can hangout or something." He proclaimed quickly before I could finish my sentence.

"Uh yeah. Sure that's cool."

I invited him indoors and we both headed up to my room.

"Sorry about the mess, I haven't finished unpacking yet." I said with embarrassment as I realized the state my room was in.

"It's cool I don't mind. You have a PS4 too? What games do you have?"

With boyish pride I ran down the list of the variety of games I own. When I mentioned Mortal Kombat he immediately perked up and challenged me to a match. Not to be shown up in my own home I confidently agreed to the match.

We both took a seat on my bed next to each other and grabbed a controller. Our thighs just inches apart.

Within minutes I regretted my decision. He kicked my ass three games in a row with ease. I set my controller down and looked over at him with my jaw nearly on the floor. Looking back at me he just smiled and said

"Beginners luck."

I couldn't help but smile back before we both broke into laughter. I tried one more game against him but found no new result.

"Maybe we should play a different game." I suggested.

I couldn't describe it but there was this kind of tension in the air. I'm no stranger to bonding over video games but something felt different. He was cute, I couldn't deny it whether I was gay or not. But I can't let him know that, he'll hate me or beat me up if I do. I've got to keep my cool and not let him know that I'm attracted to him.

Bjorn got up and started looking at all of my games on my desk. I took the opportunity to look at his backside again. He was wearing a shirt now but he was still in his board shorts and they were easy to get lost in.

Bjorn quickly turned around holding up a new game that he wanted to play.

I was caught. I was staring at his butt and his quick turn around gave me no time to advert my eyes. I was sure I just broke the rule I just made for myself and he was going to yell at me or even hit me. But what happened next was nothing like my harsh imagination thought it would be.

He just smiled at me. Didn't say a word to me about it, just smiled and asked if the game in his hand would be cool to play.

My brain racked with ideas trying to make sense of it all.

"Did he not notice?"

"Is he pretending it's okay but is secretly creeped out?"

"Did he not care?"

I couldn't wrap my head around it but decided it would be best to just pretend it didn't happen and answer his question.

"Yeah sure it's a cool game"

We played for another 20 minutes before I heard a noise from downstairs. My parents were home.

I looked over at Bjorn who was still concentrating on the game.

"Want to meet my parents?"

"Sure" was all he said as he put the controller down.

We both got off the bed together and headed downstairs. I entered the living room first with Bjorn in tow.

"Hey mom, dad, this is Bjorn."

The boy took a step forward and gave a shy wave.

Both my parents looked over at me with somewhat stunned expressions. They set the groceries they were carrying inside down on the counter and greeted Bjorn.

"Hi, I'm Angela, Keaton's mom and this is his dad Kyle. Keaton why didn't you tell us you were having a friend over the house isn't very clean."

I felt embarrassed for not asking them permission first, especially since I didn't want Bjorn to feel unwanted. Before I could respond Bjorn chimed in to try and save me.

"I'm sorry Mrs. Angela I was the one who asked Keaton to come over unexpectedly. And I think you have a beautiful home."

"My god he's a charmer isn't he" I thought. My mother wasn't even angry anymore.

"Well thank you that's very sweet of you. Just remember to ask next time Keaton" My mother said glaring at me.

"And what happened to your eye!" She suddenly exclaimed.

"I wa-

"We were playing football when one of my friends accidently hit him with it. It was an accident"

My mother looked back at me to make sure the story was true.

"Yeah that's what happened. I'm fine though"

My mother seemed worried. She liked to baby me and was resisting every urge to not rush me and attend to my minor bruise like it was a stab wound. I think she held her composure because she didn't want to embarrass me in front of a new friend.

My dad finally chimed in with his 2 cents.

"Gotta keep your head in the game son."

"Thanks dad." I said with some sarcasm behind my words.

He added "So Bjorn that's an interesting name. Where you from?"

"Norway originally but I've been here a couple years now." Bjorn answered confidently.

"Interesting, well I'm glad you and my son hit it off so quickly. We're new here in case you didn't know and it usually takes him awhile to make friends."

"Daaaad!" I exclaimed with obvious embarrassment and shame.

"I think he's pretty cool." Bjorn said adding on his signature smile.

I looked back over at him slightly blushing from the compliment and returned his smile. His smile was definitely contagious because soon my parents were smiling at the two of us too.

"You're welcome to stay for dinner Bjorn" My mother said breaking the silence.

"That would be cool but my parents are expecting me home soon."

I was sad to hear him say that. I'm not sure why but it felt nice having him around. I've known him for only a few hours but he still seemed cooler than all of my friends in the past.

"Well I can give you a ride home if you like."

"It's okay I live right across the street actually." Bjorn said in a cheery tone.

That perked me up a bit, knowing he was so close made it seem all the more possible that I would see him again very soon.

"Well we'll be glad to have you over anytime and your parents as well."

Me and Bjorn walked outside the house to say our quick farewells.

"Hey" Bjorn said abruptly.

"Can I get your phone number." He added with a cheerful smile.

I happily accepted his request and fished my new phone out of my pocket. I apologized because I had to look up my phone number first since I hadn't remembered it yet. After typing it into his phone he smiled and headed home. When he reached the end of my driveway He shouted back at me.

"I'll text you later bro."

"Cool." I yelled back at him still smiling.

I walked back into the house and proceeded to help my parents put the groceries away.

"Well he seems like a nice boy" My mother hummed.

"Yeah he's cool." I responded casually trying to keep my cool.

"I'm glad you're making friends already son. I knew you would like this place once you got here." My father chimed in.

After a quick lunch I headed upstairs to finish unpacking. But first things first I needed to shower after playing outside. I stripped naked and headed for my bathroom.

Taking a look in the mirror I could see the dark outline around my left eye of what was soon to become a much nastier black eye or "shiner" as David called it.

I huffed in annoyance at my current appearance but my mind soon wandered to the events that took place after the ball hit me.

I vividly pictured Bjorn in front of me the way he was before. His blonde hair was long on top and combed over the side with an undercut look. His bright blue eyes sparkled in the sun when he stared at me, almost piercing right through me. His strong but gentle hand taking ahold of mine made me almost melt.

I started the hot water and leaned against the counter as my imagination continued to wander. Each memory became more vivid than the last. Before I knew it my memory turned into pure fantasy.

I envisioned myself wrapping my arms around Bjorn, thanking him for his kindness and rewarding him with a kiss. Everyone on the beach disappeared now and it was just us.

I hopped in the shower but my fantasy didn't waver a moment.

My kiss was soon reciprocated as I found myself on my back with Bjorn on top of me, his lips pressed against mine and his hands pinning my wrists to the warm sand.

It didn't take long for my physical body to take notice of my brain's activity. The stream of water was soon stimulating my raging hard-on, followed by left hand.

I pictured Bjorn's bare chest against mine. The sun beating down on us as we acted out our most primal of urges. I was pinned underneath him, helpless to the slightly stronger boy's grasp. Even if escape was possible I wouldn't attempt it. I wasn't afraid, I felt safe and loved underneath this boy even in this dream world.

My hand had been flying up and down my shaft and it didn't take long before the familiar feelings returned.

In my head Bjorn had started to pull my board shorts off, kissing down my chest and stomach until he reached my navel and gently tongued the small opening. Imagining the feeling of his tongue on my stomach was all my body could handle.

With a few final strokes my dick erupted and gushed like a geyser. The feeling was so strong that my legs could no longer support me. My new shower didn't include a tub, so this time my young body just braced itself against the wall and sunk onto the shower floor. The evidence of my eruption disappeared under the showers stream but my ecstasy did not fade so quickly. With deep and heavy breaths I laid on the shower floor coming down from the high I just experienced. I've never had an orgasm so strong before, and I did it while thinking of my new friend, a boy.

I was overcome with guilt and shame as I picked myself off of the floor and continued to wash myself.

"Why did I have to have feelings for him?"

"Am I really gay?"

My fear of rejection and humiliation came to a peak at this moment. In my mind there is no way I'll ever be accepted for being gay and I can never tell him how I feel or he'll hate me. I don't want him to hate me. Even though we just met he's still my friend and I don't want anyone to hate me.

For the first time in my life I had actually come to terms with the fact that I might be gay. As much as I didn't want it to be true it's hard to escape reality, and the reality of the situation is... I like Bjorn.

I finished my shower and crawled into bed. It was only 3:00 pm but I didn't have the desire to do anything else today. With the image of Bjorn still fresh in my mind I grabbed my drawing pad and a pencil and went to work. The next few hours were spent recreating the face of the angel who saved me on the beach. Okay maybe I'm exaggerating but still, in a way he did come to my rescue without hesitation. Even if his rescue was just an apology for a stray pass, there was no doubting the concern he had for me while I sat there.

I was just about finished with my drawing, I was trying to get his hair just right, when a familiar sound rang through my room. It was a text message. I grabbed my phone and glanced at the screen to see who the sender was.

It was Bjorn.

I unlocked my phone and opened the message as fast as my fingers possibly could. There was two messages from him now.

Received: "Hey Keaton, it's Bjorn"

Received: "Can I ask you a question?"

My heart stopped.

"What could it be?"

"Did he figure out I was looking at him?"

"Did he know I liked him?"

"Or maybe it's just something casual like "do you want to play ps4?"

I typed back quickly but not too quickly to make him think I was desperate, I had to play it cool ya know.

Sent: "Sure what's up"

I anxiously awaited his response until I saw those three little dots begin to wave on my screen.
